Point Perpendicular and the lighthouse are one of Jervis Bay's most distinctive and powerful landmarks.  In 1995 the Australian Maritime Safety Authority handed over management of the Point Perpendicular  Lighthouse to the RAN, enabling the lighthouse  and grounds to be managed as part of the Beecroft Weapons Range.  The Point Perpendicular Lighthouse, built in 1899,is constructed of pre-cast concrete  blocks and stands 93 metres above sea level The Lighthouse was staffed until 1993 when it was decommissioned following construction of a solar power lighthouse. The lighthouse is approximately 10km. from the main road into Currarong. The road is unsealed and caution must be exercised while driving. The peninsula is regularly closed for defence exercises, for information contact the rangers phone: 02 4448 3411 The photos below show some magnificant views.
